Bounty Hunter BHJS Junior Metal Detector Review
Treasure hunting isn't always an adult sport. In fact, the number of times children have run up from the front lawn with some ancient artefact in toe - having just found it with the family metal detector - might actually surprise you.
The only problem with this is that we all know - children are sometimes a little bit careless with expensive electronic objects - hence unless you have an incredibly comprehensive insurance policy on your home contents, a better solution might be necessary.
Thankfully, Bounty Hunter has come up with a solution, and it's called the Bounty Hunter BHJS Junior Metal Detector. We reviewed this product to see exactly how it performs under demanding (and sometimes damaging) conditions.

Bounty Hunter BHJS Junior Metal Detector Features & Specifications
Size & Weight
The Bounty Hunter BHJS Junior Metal Detector weighs in at around 2 pounds, which is a very light weight for a fully functional metal detector. The reason for this decline in weight versus other Bounty Hunter models is that this version cuts the size of the user interface and the coil right down, ultimately making the machine lighter.
The reduction does not affect the performance however, as you will see in the next paragraph.
Detection Abilities
This metal detector is able seek out objects which are 5 inches under the ground (very small objects such as coins) and for larger metal objects, that range is extended to 3 feet.
The user interface features a "target indicator" which guides you towards metal objects with precision - saving time and providing a better and more efficient find rate.
Interface & Controls
There are a number of additional functions on the Bounty Hunter BHJS Junior Metal Detector user interface which enhance the overall performance of the machine. For example, the discrimination control allows you to determine which objects are not worth digging up by changing the frequency at which the coil works.
Our Rating of the Bounty Hunter BHJS Junior Metal Detector
Overall, the Bounty Hunter BHJS Junior Metal Detector is an excellent choice if you are looking for either a cheap and easily accessible metal detector, or a device which is suited mainly to the younger generation.
The product is solid, and will certainly not break if handled in a slightly rough manner. It will more than handle the odd bump or fall - making it perfect for the children to play with. However, if you are looking for a powerful machine which can see deep in to the ground, this is probably not the ultimate in quality. We think it's worthy of a full 5 stars.
